This Lollipop Ghosts craft is the perfect hands-on Halloween activity for kids. These require just a few supplies and in the end, you’ll have an adorable Halloween treat ready for giving! Making lollipop ghosts is the perfect Halloween craft for DIY Halloween decorating home or the classroom.

Halloween Ghost Lollipop Craft For Kids

With Halloween, whether I am making treats for my son’s class Halloween party or preparing fun treats for trick-or-treaters, I like to go big or go home.

However, we won’t be home this Halloween, as we have a party to go too. But I didn’t want kids to miss out on candy!

That is why this year we decided that while we won’t give out candy like we usually do by hand, we decided that lollipop ghosts hanging from a tree was a fun.

We even have a Halloween printable candy sign saying “please take one” for you! You can find it at the bottom of the post after the craft steps!

Supplies Needed

• Tootsie Roll Pops (you can also use blow pops)
• Box of Kleenex tissues (without any pattern on them)
• White Dental Floss
• Black Sharpie Marker
• Scissors
• Invisible Tape

Directions to Make Lollipop Ghosts Craft

Step 1

Start by breaking off a piece of floss about 6 inches in length and then tie a knot at the top of the floss so it becomes a circle.

Step 2

Now, stick the round piece of floss over the top of the Tootsie roll pop and then twist it.

Craft Note:

Twisting the string will help it stay on the ghost lollipop. We don’t want our lollipops falling to the ground or getting knocked out of the “ghost” by the wind or people bumping into them.

Step 3

Use a piece of tape to adhere the floss to the top of the sucker. You want to have a loop for hanging the ghost sucker.

Step 4

Take a piece of your tissue and fold it from corner to corner to form a triangle then cut a small slit right in the middle.

Step 5

On the other side of the tissue, pull the loop of the sucker into the tissue so you have the loop coming through.

Step 6

Use your hands to wrap the tissue around the sucker and then use another small piece of floss to tie it onto the sucker so the bottom half looks like a ghost.

Step 7

Cut off any excess floss.

Step 8

Now, use your sharpie marker to draw on two eyes.

Step 9

And now your lollipop ghost is ready for hanging on a tree, bush or anywhere else so trick-or-treaters can grab one on Halloween!

Can I use dum dums suckers instead?

While you can, I think these look and work better with the larger suckers. The larger suckers give the ghost face a bigger area to draw on the eyes. They also look better with the piece of tissue.

If you do use smaller suckers, you may want to cut the tissues in half.
